Jan Beaney & Jean Littlejohn have produced more than 30 books on embroidery, surface design, illustration and stitch and together with Galli Creative — 4 wonderful video workshops covering the vast range of their work as textile artists. Based in the United Kingdom, Jan & Jean are the former Presidents of the Embroiderers’ Guild of the United Kingdom. They actively teach stitch, mixed media and surface design the world over.

For more than 40 years they have been inspiring the world with books on Embroidery, Stitch, Journaling, Drawing, Painting and More. Together they are the creative duo ‘Double Trouble’ and their company website is Double Trouble Enterprises.

They enjoy teaching around the UK and the world and often can be found in Italy teaching textile retreats which are wonderful one on one opportunities.

In this 2+ hour stitch and mixed media workshop Jan and Jean will lead you through a variety of embroidery and mixed media techniques including: developing a composition / journaling, fabric paints, fabric dyes, embellishing, knitting, foiling, soluble film, hand and machine stitching.

Follow along as Jan Beaney and Jean Littlejohn explore the power and versatility of the sewing machine in creating a variety of stitch and embroidery textiles. A wonderful introduction to free motion machine embroidery for all skill levels and artists.

Jan Beaney & Jean Littlejohn provide an inspirational guide to hand embroidery stitching, using traditional and contemporary stitch techniques along the way. All traditional stitches are covered in detail as well as gorgeous examples of use.

In this 5+ hour workshop from Jan Beaney and Jean Littlejohn, we explore many techniques including drawing, painting, collage and making marks. As Jan and Jean love to say — “the more you look, the more you see”.
